Model making is the art of selecting those aspects of a process that are relevant to the question being asked. As with any art, this selection is guided by taste, elegance, and metaphor; it is a matter of induction, rather than deduction. High science depends on this art. - John Henry Holland

The influence of this model comes from the idea of creating a heightened awareness of the users' body in relation to the space. It allows users to fully immerse themselves in the space whilst walking through different parts and having different spatial experiences each time they move to a new area.

The space comprises of shell structure, complex rib vault and cross vault which lead to this linked space which is open and organic, allowing the users to explore freely.

The crossing of the one way frames over the Barrel Vault tunnel give context to the volume and height of the ceiling and width of the space. The openings on the barrel vault allows natural lighting to fall into the space which changes during different time of the day and allow users to be aware of their body to the space.

SHELTERING THROUGH SPACES

Inspired by the Reichstag Dome, my dome creates a sequence of space to follow for the users. The outermost ribbed dome is the most dominant and is the hierarchy of the design elements due to the massive volume, sheltering the other elements in the space. It also connects to an observatory deck, the onion dome at the peak of the ribbed dome, it allows users to see the circumambulation of others when they are up there. Within the ribbed dome are 4 smaller elements and a geodasic dome around the entrance the observatory deck, on the opposite end of the entrance of the ribbed dome.
